Loneliness and the Law of Attraction

Sometimes when we are feeling lonely, it’s very easy to stay stuck in that feeling.  We remind ourselves how lonely we are, how bad it feels, how unsatisfying life can be, etc.  True to the nature of the Law of Attraction like thoughts attract like thoughts.  Therefore, the more we focus on how lonely we are, the more lonely we will feel because the more we’ll attract other thoughts about being lonely.  What a dreadful place to be in – an endless loop of thoughts keeping us in the low vibration of loneliness.

There Is A Way Out Of Loneliness

There is a way out of loneliness and it starts with a thought.  Yes, just one simple thought can be the open door to a better feeling place.  So what is the magic thought?  It would go something like this “Even though I’m feeling lonely right now, I know that I can think of something I like doing and why I like doing it.”  By deliberately doing this, you’ll start to feel better.  For example, say you’re someone who enjoys hiking.  Simply think about all the reasons you enjoy it.  Maybe it feels good to be out in nature, or maybe seeing and hearing the birds and the other little critters along the way puts a smile on your face, or maybe passing by and saying hello to fellow hikers gives you a sense of community, or maybe it’s all of the above?  Whatever it is, deliberately thinking of activities you enjoy, and why you enjoy them will help you to feel better overall.  Once you start feeling better, from that improved place, then you can deliberately choose to take action and go do something enjoyable to cancel out the loneliness.  Maybe you’ll get inspired to call a friend and ask them to join you for tea, or maybe you’ll go to the book store and catch up on the latest books that appeal to you, or maybe you’ll go to the gym.

So the next time you feel lonely, remember that your thoughts are the open door out of loneliness into satisfaction.

Law of Attraction And The Loss Of A Pet

When we adopt a pet and care for it, become friends with it, love it, play with it, enjoy its company, etc., we’re not thinking about that sad day when it has to leave us and cross the rainbow bridge.

Recently, I lost my angel Pebbles.  We adopted her when she was just 3 months old.  she was 13 when she passed.  People tell me that was a long life and to be happy for all those years we got to enjoy her and care for her.  13 years is a long time, but it doesn’t seem long enough.  Thinking back, it’s amazing how fast those years went.

Now that I’m somewhat recovered from the experience, I can write about it to share how the Law of Attraction helped me get through, and continues to help me get through this tough experience.  Knowing about the Law of Attraction not only helps us attract what we want, but can also help us get through a difficult time in the best way possible.

I guess we typically don’t think of the Law of Attraction and the loss of a pet going together.  However, after I allowed myself to react to the sadness of it all, I realized that I had to start pulling myself up out of it.  I knew it would take time, but I slowly started reaching for better thoughts.  I also realized that when I thought about the day she passed compared to thinking about her cute qualities, that thinking about her cute qualities and fun times we had together made me feel better.  So I started to deliberately focus on the cute things she did, how she would always greet me with lots of kisses whenever I cam home, etc.

It didn’t happen over night, but little by little, these better thoughts helped me start to feel at my more normal raised vibration.  I had to remember that like thoughts attract like thoughts so the more I thought about how much joy she brought, the more thoughts like that came to mind, and that made me feel much better.

Thank goodness I know about the Law of Attraction and how it “works” because without it I’d probably still be sad and attracting more sad circumstances and experiences.

Law of Attraction and Thoughts

It’s so interesting to me that regardless of how well someone knows about the Law of Attraction, it can be easy to lose focus and before you know it, your thoughts are about something unwanted, and you’re getting all caught up that.  Many times clients ask me “Why is it so easy to lose focus about thinking about what I want?  I was doing so good, and then out of the blue I realized I was thinking about what I don’t want.”  This is because we are creatures of habit and have all spent years and years practicing thinking about “what is” (the problem) rather than focusing our thoughts on what we want.

The solution to losing focus

The solution to losing focus is to start to become very aware of what you’re thinking about, and how you’re thinking about it.  Once you do that, then you can catch yourself when you start focusing on the problem, rather than the solution.

For example, say someone wants to be in a wonderful, loving relationship.  However, based on past experience and length of time it’s taking them to find someone new, they’re caught up in thinking about how hard it is to find someone, and all the good ones are gone.  Let’s assume this person knows about the Law of Attraction and realizes that they’ll keep attracting what they focus on so they deliberately start to think about the good qualities in they want in someone, and even the idea that they could meet that special someone at any time.  So for a few days this person feels much better about the possibility of meeting someone.  Then as they days go by and no one is showing up, the old thoughts of doubt start coming in like “Why is it taking so long to find someone special?” “I tried to focus on what I want but it’s not working.”  These thoughts just bring this person down vibrationally about relationships and now they’re back focusing on all the negative thoughts they have about relationships.  It’s easy for this to happen regardless of if it’s about relationships, more money, a better job, etc.

But, here’s the encouraging news!  Once you know about the Law of Attraction, even if you find yourself lost in thoughts of what you don’t want, it just takes a second to start re-focusing your thoughts so they’re about what you do want.  One positive thought at a time will help to bring the above person back to thinking about who they’re looking for.  It just takes practice, but with time and practice anyone can get used to thinking more about what they want, then what they don’t want.  Not only does it feel better to focus on what we want, but by doing that, we’re setting ourselves up to attract it.

Law of Attraction and Keeping Your Focus

When it comes the Law of Attraction, one of the ways to keep it working in your favor is to focus (think about) on what you want, instead of on what you don’t want.  This is because it is law that like attracts like.  So, what you focus on is what you’re going to attract.

However, why does it seem so easy to suddenly find yourself lost in thoughts about why something isn’t happening, or why something is taking so long to happen?  I think it’s because it’s what we’re used to doing.  We’re used to using our current reality as a measuring point of what’s going on.  After all, if I’m still not attracting more money, or my dream job, or my soul mate, I must be doing something wrong, is what we’re most likely getting lost in thought about.

It’s kind of like a trap in the sense that we’re supposed to focus on what we want, but when our reality isn’t that, it’s alot to ask to ignore current reality so we can focus on what we want.  However, even though it is alot to ask and it may even seem strange at first, it’s imperative that we do just that!  We attract what we think about, so we have to think about abundance, how our dream job would feel if we had it, and how wonderful it would be to find true love (or whatever it is you’ve been wanting to attract).

The Good News

The good news is that though we can get lost in thinking about what we don’t want, it takes just a second to start re-focusing on what we do want.  Once we re-focus, it gets easier to keep focusing on what we want, and when we do, we can actually feel the improved feeling.

So the next time you find yourself thinking about something that hasn’t happened for you, remember that it’s not serving you to think about it in that way, so just flip your thoughts to what you do want, and why you want it, and not only will you enjoy feeling better, but what you want will be on its way!

Living The Law of Attraction – a 21 day self-guided program

Living The Law of Attraction – a 21 day self-guided program

Sometimes a potential client is unable to do private phone coaching with me, and I was looking for a way to help them learn about the Law of Attraction.  So I decided that I should write a 21 day program that someone could do on their own.  The program would have daily Law of Attraction processes and techniques so that the reader could learn them and put them into use to improve their own life.

One day the title Living The Law of Attraction came to me.  Once I had the title I knew that the program would just kind of write itself, which it did!

What is Living The Law of Attraction, and how does someone use it?

In the intro of the book I talk about the Law of Attraction and what it is.  Then when the reader is ready, they start on “Day 1” and on that day they practice the process I talk about.

Then, the next day, they do what it suggests on “Day 2” and so on and so on for the remainder of the 21 days.

The great thing is that at the end of the 21 days, the reader doesn’t just stop, they continue to use what they learned for the rest of their lives so they can attract what they want, and feel great.  At least that’s what my intention was when I wrote the program.

An alarm attached to your thoughts?

An alarm attached to your thoughts?

What you focus on and give your attention to, is what you’re going to attract.  A good way to find out if you’re focusing on what you want is to ask yourself “If an alarm was attached to my thoughts and it went off every time I thought about something negative, how often would it be going off?”

For most people, that alarm would be going off alot!  What about for you?  That answer gives you a good idea of if you’re focusing on what you want or not.

How to stop that thought alarm from going off.

One easy way to help you focus more on what you want (and stop that alarm from going off) is when you catch yourself thinking about what you don’t want, just ask yourself “What do I want?” about whatever it was you were thinking about, and then start focusing on that.

Once you know what you want, do your best to stay focused on it so that you can attract it.  The more you focus on what you want, the more you will attract it, it’s the law.

It’s also a great idea to randomly get used to asking yourself “What do I want?” about various areas of your life because it forces you to think about what you want, over what you don’t want.

So don’t let that thought alarm go off – do your best to focus on what you want, what you want, what you want.

Manifesting What You Want

Manifesting What You Want

When it comes to manifesting something you want, how good are you at consistently thinking it’s going to manifest for you without getting discouraged?  I ask because it can be very easy to be excited about it one day, and then discouraged that it hasn’t happened yet on another day.

When it comes to the Law of Attraction you have to do your best to have a certainty that it will happen.

I always like using the following example.  When you get into your car to go somewhere you most likely never question if you’re going to get there.  Half way there you don’t turn around because you’re not there yet.  You have an expectation, a certainty that you’re going to get there.  If you can take that same certainty you have when it comes to knowing that you’re going to get to wherever you’re going, and put that feeling of certainty towards something you want to manifest, Law of Attraction can’t help but bring it to you.

Idea to help you manifest what you want

So the next time you go somewhere pause for a moment and feel that certainty, that knowing that you’re going to get there without a doubt.  Then, immediately think about something you want to manifest, and do your best to feel that same certainty, that 100% knowing that it’s going to happen for you.

It will take practice to get good at it, but once you do, be prepared to attract whatever it is you are certain about manifesting.  It’s also important to remember to let go of how or when something will manifest.
