Focusing on what you want

Many people who contact me about Law of Attraction coaching can’t understand why they’re not attracting what they want.  One question I like to ask is “How often each day do you spend focusing on what you want, and why you want it?”  After a brief silence, they admit that it’s not very often.  That’s part of the problem.

Ask yourself what you want more often

How can you expect to attract what we want if we’re not deliberately focusing on what we want every day?

How often should I focus on what I want?

The next question is typically how often should I focus on what I want each day?  I then ask “How much do you want to attract “X” into your life?”  “X” could be more money, a wonderful relationship, a better job, etc.  They usually respond by saying they want to attract it 100% as soon as possible.  So the answer to how often is – VERY often!

You have to understand that you must focus on what we want, and why you want it as much as possible because the more you do that in the “right” way, the more it’s going to manifest.

Unfortunately, most people probably focus more on the lack of not having whatever it is they want – which just keeps it from manifesting.

Though I teach my clients many processes to help them focus on what they want so they can attract whatever they want, thinking about what you want in the “right” way, every day is key.  The more the better.

So if you’re reading this I’m asking you – “How often do you focus on what you are wanting?”  If it’s not every day, then do your best to start focusing on what you want more often.

You have to be careful who you’re getting Law of Attraction advice from.  The other day I received a phone call from an old friend.  After catching up, she informed me that she was teaching people about the Law of Attraction.  At first I was happy for her, and that more people are learning about LOA.  However, then she went on for about 10 minutes complaining and complaining about how much money she doesn’t have, how it’s so hard to find an apartment, and other negative (low vibration) thoughts.  After our conversation (or more like her rant about what she doesn’t want) it was clear that she really doesn’t understand the Law of Attraction at all.  Because if she did, she would know that all that complaining was just setting herself up for those things to continue to be difficult for her to manifest.  In response to that, I’m asking you if you’re focusing alot on what you don’t want, instead of what you do want?

Another example of what not to do regarding Law of Attraction

As a similar story/example.  For those of you who don’t know, I am also certified as a Consulting Hypnotist.  During my training, someone in the program told me that she teaches a course part-time called “Laws of the Universe” in which she spends about 10 minutes teaching about the Law of Attraction, and then she moves on to the next topic.  First I was a little suspicious about only spending 10 minutes teaching about it.  Throughout the hypnosis training she would tell me different stories about her current life issues.  It was clear to me that she may know the basic definition of LOA, but she certainly isn’t practicing what she preaches because her current life situation would be much different, and here she is teaching people about Law of Attraction!  So I’m asking you, are you using what you know about the Law of Attraction to benefit your life?

The above stories really showed me that many people who know about, and even teach about the Law of Attraction, are not using what they know, or they don’t fully understanding it, and that reflects how their lives are.

So please ask yourself – do the people you’re learning Law of Attraction from seem to be living what they preach?  Do you really understand what the Law of Attraction  is, and are you really using what you do know to improve your life?  If not, find someone else to listen to or learn from, and start implementing their good advice into your own life.

Law of Attraction and Relationships

Law of Attraction and Relationships

Believe it or not, relationships and the Law of Attraction have alot to do with each other.  When I use the word “relationships,” to me there are three types.  (1) There’s the relationship you have with yourself; (2) the relationship(s) you have with other people, and (3) the relationship you have, or want to have, with a love interest.

Are your relationships what you want?

The thoughts and therefore the vibrations you’re putting out about all 3 types of relationships is exactly what you’re experiencing.

Have you ever even thought about the relationship you have with yourself?  Are you good to yourself, kind to yourself, or do you put yourself down?  Think about it and if need be take action to improve the relationship you have with yourself.

What about the relationships you have with other people?  Do you enjoy them, criticize them, or go out of your way to make them good?  If you think you can improve them, choose to do that.

And, of course, where are you thoughts about finding true love, or if you have found it, are you enjoying it, or complaining about it?  Make sure you’re focusing on what you want.  And, if you’re looking for your soul mate, focus on the qualities you want them to have.

If you really take the time to ask yourself the above questions, it’s a great start to finding out where your thoughts/vibrations are when it comes to relationships.

Once you’re honest with yourself about where you stand, then you can start using Law of Attraction processes to start attracting the kind of relationships you really want, in all areas of your life, including with yourself!

Do you have to know how something will manifest?

Do you have to know how something will manifest?

The question of the day is “Do you have to know how something you want is going to manifest?”

The answer is “no!”

When it comes to working with the Law of Attraction, so many people get caught up in trying to figure out, or having to know how something they want is going to manifest that it just keeps it from happening.  This is because these types of thoughts are all about resistance, and resistance blocks manifestation.

They think thoughts like “I want to go on a cruise, but how is the money going to come?” or “I really want to buy that house, but it’s $30,000 more than I can afford” or “I want to be in a relationship, but it seems so hard to meet someone.”

The solution to having to know…

The good news is that it’s not your job to figure out how something you want is going to happen.  As hard as that may be for you to believe, it’s the truth.

Your job is to match the vibration of whatever it is you’re wanting, and then allow the Law of Attraction to deliver it without getting caught up in the how or when.

Because, once you get caught up in the how (or when), you start putting up resistance, and it’s the resistance that blocks the manifestation.

That’s why I use the processes I use with my clients (and with myself), because when you use them, you’re lessening the resistance to whatever it is you’re wanting and allowing your vibration to raise so you can match whatever it is you’re wanting.

Once you experience doing this, you really start to get it and that’s when positive changes start to occur.

It’s wonderful when you start to live your life from a Law of Attraction point of view.

Law of Attraction talk…

Every day when you wake up you start thinking about something, and of course thoughts come and go throughout the day.  Some of the thoughts you’re thinking are negative (low vibration), and some are positive (high vibration).

However, most people go about their day as a victim to their thoughts.  If something good happens they’re in a good mood and will think what a great day they’re having.  If something bad happens they’ll most likely think what a bad day they’re having.  It sounds simple, but it’s the truth.

But the real question is “How often is the Law of Attraction effecting your life?”  Is it sometimes or only when you think about it?  The Law of Attraction is effecting your life all the time, whether you’re aware that it is or not.  It’s giving you more of what you’re thinking about and focusing on regardless if it’s “good” or “bad.”  If you’re thinking about it, you’re going to get more of whatever that is.

You can choose to improve your thoughts

The good news is that you don’t have to be a victim to your thoughts and emotions.  You can choose to do something about it so you can feel excited about your life all the time and start attracting more of what you want.  Even if you’re feeling very low, you can still reach for a thought that help you feels a little better.  A little better is better than where you were.  Then, as the day goes on you can reach for better thoughts that will help you eventually return to feeling really good.

But, you have to start to becoming more aware of how you’re thinking about what you’re thinking about, and when you find you’re thinking about something negative, flip that thought to the opposite, positive thought, and then focus on that (as opposed to staying stuck thinking about the negative).

For example, if you find you’re thinking about how you don’t have enough money, start to think about how you have plenty of money and get excited about how that would feel.  It doesn’t matter if you don’t have excess money because the Law of Attraction is responding to your higher vibration about money, and will start to make things happen in your life so that you’ll start attracting more money.

So the next time you feel like you’re not as happy as you could be, start deliberately reaching for better thoughts until you make yourself happy again.  It takes practice, but with time and awareness, you can master feeling happy more often than not.

How often are you actually thinking about what you want?

I hope the answer is as often as possible.  Sometimes it can be easy, because of habit, to think about all the reasons why you don’t have something you want.  Or, maybe you think it’s too hard or out of the question to manifest something, so you just forget about it.

Do you realize how amazing it would be if you spent all that time thinking about what you don’t want, and instead thought about what you do want?  That would serve you in so well in several ways.  First of all you’ll keep yourself at a higher vibration.  When you do that, you’re not only feeling better, you’re automatically attracting more of what you want because the Law of Attraction will set up experiences and circumstances that are high vibration.  I don’t know about you, but I want as many high vibration experiences coming my way as possible!

Secondly, by thinking more about what you do want, you’ll start attracting it into your life which is the outcome you really want.

I understand that sometimes it can feel hard to focus on what you want over what you don’t want.  But believe me, when you deliberately start doing that, and you get used to it, you’ll really feel the difference and how important it is to do that.  It just takes time and practice, but it’s well worth it.

Ask yourself throughout the day “What am I focusing on?” and if need be, improve what you’re focusing on.

How many coaching sessions does it take?

How many coaching sessions does it take?

Many people ask me “David, how many coaching session will I need in order to fully understand the Law of Attraction, and to learn the processes which will help me attract what I want for the rest of my life?”

The answer is that there’s not one answer.

The truth is everyone is different. However, I insist that everyone start with 4 coaching sessions in a row (1 a week for 4 weeks).  I insist on this because that is the minimum amount of sessions it takes to start to get a basic understanding of how to use the Law of Attraction.  Some coaches insist on 8 sessions in a row, and I have seen others that require even more than that.

After the initial 4 sessions most clients continue on with many more sessions because they like what they are learning, and they are starting to understand how to manifest more of what they want.  The also start to feel they are at a higher vibration than when they started coaching. and it feels good!

I have also had clients who just continue with a few more sessions after the initial 4.

Clients usually want more sessions even if they stop at some point.  It seems that during the coaching they are practicing the Law of Attraction processes and techniques, and doing the other “home work” I assign them, and they can feel they have a raised vibration and are starting to feel positive about attracting what they want.  But, as the weeks go by it’s typical that they may start reverting back to old habits and realize they aren’t feeling as vibrationally high as they were when they were doing the coaching, so they want a few more sessions to get them back to where they were.

The more coaching sessions you have, the more momentum you’re building up towards helping yourself not only attract what you want, but to feel better than you ever have.

It’s important to keep your vibration high so that your resistance to attracting what you want is lower. When the resistance is lower, you start manifesting your desires.
