Law of Attraction in Real Life

A lot of people resonate with the Law of Attraction but they don’t know how to use it in their daily lives.  I say this because I get a lot of calls/emails from people who have watched The Secret, or heard information about the Law of Attraction, and it makes sense to them. However, even though it makes sense to them then they’re like “now what?”

It’s very easy to understand the basic definition of Law of Attraction which is “like energy attracts like energy.” However, even if you understand that it doesn’t mean you know what to do to attract what you want into your life.

Attracting what you want

Attracting what you want is for both material things and fulfilling emotional needs.  It’s also important to know how to deliberately keep yourself feeling good, so you’ll attract more feel good experiences into your life.

The good news is that once you work with an experienced Law of Attraction life coach, you’ll find out about processes and techniques that you can use daily to keep the Law of Attraction working in your favor. It’s kind of like when you read a self-help book but you don’t actually do what the author says, so you don’t really benefit from the information. The same holds true with the Law of Attraction. You can know about it, and even agree with it, but until you practice various processes that help keep you focused and excited about what you are wanting, you won’t benefit from it.  I say this because though there is alot of great information out there about Law of Attraction, most of it doesn’t give you real examples on how to get it to work in your favor.

For example, a client of mine was looking to make a career change but nothing was happening. She even knew where she wanted to work. Then she started using some of the processes she learned, and within a few weeks “out of the blue” a customer of hers revealed where he worked, and it turned out to be the exact place that she wanted to work! She told her customer that, and he didn’t hesitate to give her vital information on how to get the job she wanted.

Of course this didn’t just happen “out of the blue.”  By doing the processes she lessened her resistance to what she was wanting, and as a result Law of Attraction made it happen. Law of Attraction is happening in your real life every day. The question is, are you attracting what you want, or what you don’t want?

Enjoying life…

Enjoying Life

Are you one of those people who thinks that one of the reasons we’re here is to enjoy life?

I don’t know about you, but I am!

It can be easy to get caught up in the daily grind and forget that experiencing joy is a right that we all have.  So as a reminder, I think it’s important to do deliberately do something every day that you enjoy, that’s fun, and/or that makes you feel good.

No matter how busy you are, there’s something you can do to have a joyful experience. At a minimum you can laugh about something funny that you experienced in the past. I like doing that because when I think of something funny that happened to me, I instantly start laughing again about it and it feels good. One of my experiences that I like to think about is the time that I went with my friend Lynn to a serious movie.  We were in a fun mood and were laughing throughout the movie at scenes that weren’t supposed to be funny!  No one else in the theater knew why we were laughing, but we just were and it made it so much fun.

Of course if you have more time, just doing something you consider fun is a great way to experience joy like hiking, painting, exercising, etc.

Hopefully this post is a reminder to go out of your way to have fun, to laugh, to do something you enjoy so that you can enjoy your life. And remember, when it comes to the Law of Attraction, the more you do to experience joy, the more joyful experiences and circumstances you’ll attract!

Watch Out For Resistance

Watch out for resistance

When it comes to manifesting what you want, resistance is the culprit for it not showing up.  Resistance is all the doubt, worry, and fear that comes up when we think about something we want to attract.

Many times we can think positively about something that we want, but if it doesn’t happen when we think it should, that’s when the resistant thoughts start coming in.

What are resistant thoughts?

Some of the resistant thoughts that come up could be: “how is this going to happen, I knew it was too much to ask for?” or “why is it taking so long to manifest?” or “what if I don’t have enough money to go on vacation?”

Once you allow yourself to think thoughts like that, you’re right back where you started – attracting it not to come because you’re keeping yourself in a low vibration about it all!

That’s why it’s so important to have Law of Attraction processes at your beck and call so you can use them to keep the positive vibration flowing about whatever it is you want to manifest.

We have to remember that it’s not our job to focus on the “how” or the “when” something will manifest for us.  Out job is to focus on what we want, and stay excited about it coming.  Do your best to trust that whatever you want is on its way.

Thoughts, thoughts, thoughts…

Thoughts, thoughts, thoughts

It would be so cool if there was a thought meter that would count how many thoughts we have throughout an entire day.

To take it one step further, it would be even better if the meter could print out a report at the end of the day with two columns. Column one would be called “Negative Thoughts” and column two would be called “Positive Thoughts.” Then under each column it would print out what those thoughts were.

I have a feeling the “Negative Thought” column would have a lot more thoughts on it than the positive thought column!

What thoughts are you thinking about?

When you stop to think about it, you’re always thinking about something – but are you usually thinking about questions like these: why something went wrong? why don’t I have enough of something? why did this happen? why did that happen? why didn’t he do what he said he would do? why am I still doing what I don’t want to do? I’m afraid of what my future holds, I’m worried about something, will I ever fall in love? and on and on and on!

With all these negative thoughts running through your head all day long, it’s no surprise that all these thoughts mentioned above (and others along those lines) are still what’s manifesting for you.  We always have to remember that what we think about and focus on is what we’re attracting, and going to attract.

The good news about thoughts

The good news is that you can take control of your thoughts little by little, day by day, thought by thought – starting today!

One way to do this is that when you find yourself thinking a negative thought, literally ask yourself “what do I want?” regarding whatever it was you were thinking about.  Once you know what you want (which is usually the opposite of the negative thought) and you start focusing on what you want, then eventually what you want will become what is.  The trick is that you have to practice asking yourself that question “What do I want?” over and over.

Eventually, with practice, more and more of your thoughts will be about what you want, instead of what you don’t want. Oh what a joyous day that will be!

Law of Attraction and Depression

It’s wonderful to use the Law of Attraction to attract material things into your life. You can use it to attract anything from your dream home, to your dream car, to attracting more money, and even your dream job (you really can).

However, another great aspect of using the Law of Attraction is through coaching, you find out how using it will keep yourself feeling good. What I mean by feeling good is feeling excited about life, feeling excited about starting a new day, feeling better emotionally than you used to.  Who doesn’t want that?

Choosing to be more positive and feeling good.

I actually think using the Law of Attraction in this way is even more powerful than for material things. Through coaching, my clients learn the processes to do this, and as a result go through each day feeling better and more excited about your life than they used to.

Experiencing these higher vibrations will actually effect the other areas of your life in a positive way, and you’ll start attracting more experiences and situations that will keep you feeling good and exciting about life!

You can actually choose not to feel depressed or sad or down. Once you do that and you know how, what a difference your life experience is. After all, why would you choose to feel bad when you can choose to feel better and better and better?

So the next time you feel bad or depressed about something, do your best not to hang out in that vibration (the negative thoughts), and do something fun to raise yourself up out of that.

After all, we’re supposed to experience joy as much as possible, so why not say “yes” to that?!

Law of Attraction Simplified

The Law of Attraction can be defined in several ways. Some of the easiest definitions are “like attracts like,” or “you get what you think about.” But what does that mean, and how does it effect you?

It means that what you’re thinking about and/or focusing on is what you’re going to attract to your life regardless of if it’s good or bad.

You can attract things such as more money, your dream house, a relationship, or even your dream car.

You can also attract a better emotional state and less stress, so you just feel more excited about your life. Or, on the other hand, based on what you’re choosing to focus on, you could attract something unwanted like a bad personal situation, not enough money, or always feeling stressed.

That’s why it’s important to remember that the Law of Attraction is always operating in your life 24/7.

How to use the Law of Attraction

Fortunately, through coaching, there are processes and techniques you can find out about so that you can use the Law of Attraction so it works in your favor.

One process that I like is called pivoting. This is when you realize that you’re thinking about what you don’t want, and then immediately flip the thought to what you do want, and why you want it, and stay focused on that.

For example, say you realize that you’re thinking about how you never have enough money.  You realize that’s what you’re thinking about and it’s what you don’t want to keep attracting, so you immediately flip the thought and think more positive thoughts about money and why you want money.  Thoughts like “I have unlimited money; It feels so good to have limitless amounts of money; I can buy whatever I want at the mall!” etc.

The key is to be aware enough of your thoughts so you can use the pivot process. With practice you’ll start thinking more about what you do want than what you don’t want, and then you’ll start seeing what you do want showing up in your life!

Another “win” to share…

Another “win” to share

I really like sharing “wins” because not only does it demonstrate Law of Attraction in action, the more I focus on what wins I’m having, the more wins will come my way. I don’t know about you, but I want as many wins as possible!  A win is anything good that happens for you.  I can be something you may consider small like finding the perfect parking spot, or getting a compliment, or it may be something you may consider big like attracting an unexpected check in the mail.  Either way, a win is a win.

Here’s my win.

I was thinking about advertising my life coaching practice in Natural Awakenings. That magazine is distributed all over the U.S. and since I do phone coaching, I was thinking of trying out different cities. One of the places I was thinking about placing an ad was in the Boston area. So I contacted the person in charge and when we spoke she said “I’m vibratizing my life!” At first I thought she was just conscious of keeping her vibrations high, but then she said that she read my book “Vibratize Your Life” and is practicing the techniques in the book, and was thoroughly enjoying it.

She then said she also told her sister about the book, and now they’re both consciously vibratizing their lives and loving the results.  They even share with each other what they’re doing to raise their vibrations, which they never did before reading the book.

This was amazing to me that the person I called had read my book because it’s rare that I get to talk to people who read it.

Then she went on to tell me that she was enjoying it so much that she left a 5 star review on Amazon!

What an amazing win (actually a few wins), and I’m so thankful that the book is helping people and they are enjoying it.
